Monica L.

Monica is a versatile singer-songwriter from Miami, FL, now based in sunny San Diego. Her passion for music ignited early on, with childhood spent writing songs in her bedroom, performing in choirs and a-cappella groups, and competing in local competitions. This passion led her to pursue Music Therapy at the prestigious Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. At Frost, Monica's songwriting flourished alongside her formal training in piano, guitar, and vocal techniques. Drawing inspiration from diverse influences like neo-soul, jazz, Latin, and pop music, she has recently released her debut single, "Brilliant Sun," with a second single on the horizon for 2025. Monica excels at guiding beginning-to-intermediate students in vocal, guitar, and piano, helping them learn to play and sing their favorite pop or contemporary songs while providing foundational theory-based instruction. Classically trained vocalists can also benefit from Monica’s experience in transitioning from classical to authentic contemporary singing. As a skilled performer, Monica fosters a love for performing and personal expression in her students, encouraging songwriting, developing stage presence, and cultivating expressive singing, piano, and guitar playing. Monica believes in a holistic and individualized approach to music education, emphasizing proper technique, foundational music theory, and the development of musicality and expressiveness. Her unique blend of music therapy experience, training in contemporary genres, and a natural ability to connect with students make her an effective and engaging music teacher. She is dedicated to fostering a love of music in every student, tailoring lessons to their learning styles and musical goals.

Ronica N.

My name is Ronica and I am a classically trained violinist based in San Diego, CA. I began studying violin at the age of four, and after 13 years of dedicated practice, music has become an integral part of my life. By my freshman year of high school, I had completed all 10 levels of MTAC’s Certificate of Merit, earning state recognition for my performances. My passion for performance has taken me to international stages, including the Burgos International Music Festival in Spain, where I spent two weeks in 2024 training with distinguished professors and performing solo, chamber, and orchestral works. Currently, I serve as concertmaster of the Del Norte High School Chamber Orchestra and am also the DNHS Orchestra President. Beyond performing, I am passionate about music education. I founded Jumpstart to Strings, a student-led initiative providing personalized string lessons to local elementary and middle school students. Alongside my personal teaching experience, this program has allowed me to develop four years of teaching experience, helping young musicians grow in skill and confidence. In my teaching, I prioritize creating an enjoyable and engaging learning experience while developing strong technical foundations. I collaborate with students to hand-select repertoire—assigning pieces that enhance their technique and musicality while also incorporating music they love to play. My goal is to instill not only strong fundamentals but also a lifelong passion for music in each student. I look forward to sharing the joy of music with you!
